Myra Jo Martino was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island and Queens, NY. She received a bachelors of Science degree from Emerson College where she won two Evvy Awards for best comedy writing.Her script, "Deadline" was handpicked by Francis Ford Coppola as Best Action screenplay and was a top 10 finalist overall in his "American Zoetrope" writing competition. She was also a finalist in CBS' Writers Diversity program where she played the roll of "Puerto Rican with a great Without A Trace script."She has written for Ugly Betty, where she received a Writers Guild Award, and has sold a dark comedy pilot.
